What does VoiceSpend do?

VoiceSpend lets you log expenses hands-free by speaking naturally. Just say something like "coffee $4.50" or "dinner with clients $85 for food" and the app uses AI to transcribe your words and parse them into structured expense entries — automatically assigning the amount, category, account, and tag.

Do I need an internet connection to use AI voice entry?

Yes, an internet connection is required for Voice Dictation — audio is sent to our backend for AI transcription and expense parsing. Manual entry works fully offline and never requires a connection.

What are AI Minutes?

AI Minutes refer to the amount of audio VoiceSpend can transcribe and analyze when you log expenses by voice. Each second of recorded audio counts toward your allowance. Image analyses are counted separately when you scan receipts or statements. Manual entry is always free and never uses either allowance.

What's included in the free plan?

The free plan includes 20 AI Minutes and 10 image analyses in total (lifetime). There's no per-recording cap — you simply draw from your balance as you use it. Manual entry is always free with no limits, so you can keep logging expenses even after the free AI allowances are gone.

What happens when I run out of free AI Minutes?

Voice logging will be paused. You can still add expenses manually for free at any time using the + button in the Transactions tab, or upgrade to a paid plan to get monthly AI Minutes and image analyses.

Do paid AI Minutes reset every month?

Yes. For Pro and Power plans, your AI Minutes and image analyses reset at the start of each billing period. Unused allowances do not carry over.

What are the available plans?

VoiceSpend offers a free tier plus three paid plans: Pro Monthly ($4.99/mo, 120 AI Minutes and 60 image analyses per month), Pro Annual ($39.99/yr, 120 AI Minutes and 60 image analyses per month), and Power ($7.99/mo, 300 AI Minutes and 150 image analyses per month). Paid AI allowances reset every billing period. Manual entry is always free on every plan.

Can I add expenses without using AI Minutes?

Yes. You can always add expenses manually using the + button in the Transactions tab — this never uses any AI Minutes and works on every plan, including free.

How accurate is the voice recognition?

VoiceSpend uses OpenAI Whisper for transcription, which handles most accents and everyday speech well. Accuracy depends on audio quality and background noise — speaking clearly in a reasonably quiet environment gives the best results.

What languages are supported?

VoiceSpend uses Whisper for transcription, which supports a wide range of languages. The AI expense parser works best in English, but recognizes common number and currency formats across many languages.

Is my audio stored on your servers?

No. Audio is sent to our backend for transcription and is discarded immediately after processing — it is not permanently stored. Your expense entries, accounts, and categories are saved locally on your device (and in your personal iCloud account if iCloud sync is enabled).

Can I request deletion of my data?

Your expense entries, accounts, categories, and tags are stored entirely on your device (and optionally in your iCloud account) — we never have them. You can delete individual entries inside the app at any time, or uninstall VoiceSpend to remove everything at once.

The only data we collect is anonymous website analytics (e.g., page views). This data is collected without any user identifier — no account, no device ID, no advertiser ID. Because there is nothing linking any analytics event to you specifically, individual deletion is technically not possible, even by us.

To stop future analytics collection entirely, go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements and turn off Share iPhone Analytics. Questions? Email us at voicespend@ddmac.tech.

How do I cancel my subscription?

All subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone to cancel at any time. You retain access until the end of your current billing period.

What iPhone models are supported?

VoiceSpend requires iOS 17 or later. It is optimized for iPhone and works on all devices that support iOS 17.
